Report #5 - Professional Services Contracts
The objective of this audit was to determine whether professional services contracts were awarded to McKinsey & Company in accordance with applicable procurement policies and whether value for money for those contracts was obtained.
Treasury Board Secretariat responded to the recommendation on behalf of all federal organizations who are subject to the Treasury Board Directive on the Management of Procurement. The response to the recommendation is included in the OAG report.
Report #6 - The Canadian Critical Minerals Strategy
The objective of this audit was to determine whether Natural Resources Canada, in collaboration with other federal organizations, developed an appropriate governance and reporting structure to implement the Canadian Critical Minerals Strategy in a manner that protects the environment and supports Indigenous communities by identifying risks and mitigating impact.
The responses to the recommendations are included in the CESD report.
Report #7 - Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act—2024 Report
The objective of this audit was to determine whether selected federal organizations had made progress towards effectively implementing selected measures to reduce Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions and whether Environment and Climate Change Canada had reported on progress in a transparent manner.
There were no recommendations for Natural Resource Canada.
Report #8 - Departmental Progress in Implementing Sustainable Development Strategies—Clean Energy
The objective of this audit was to determine whether the selected federal organizations contributed to meeting the target on clean power generation and the target on energy efficiency under the clean energy goal in the 2019–2022 Federal Sustainable Development Strategy and reported on their results towards the achievement of related targets 7.2 (to increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix) and 7.3 (to double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency) under the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 7 (affordable and clean energy), as applicable to each organization.
