Natural Resources Canada is pleased to share that the City of Calgary has officially launched Year 6 of BenchmarkYYC, its flagship building energy benchmarking program.
What is BenchmarkYYC?
BenchmarkYYC helps building owners measure, track, and share data on energy use, water use, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This supports impactful decisions to improve efficiency, lower emissions, and plan long-term sustainability improvements.
Recognized across Canada as a leading model for municipal energy tracking, BenchmarkYYC has seen a 30% increase in participation since launch and a 29% reduction in average GHG intensity.
Year 6 introduces new features, including the ability to benchmark water use, expanded rebate support, and discounted training opportunities through the Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET).
