Learn about a few of the projects carried out by the Local Energy Efficiency Partnerships (LEEP) team and partners through the following video series.

LEEP field trial video series

This video series shows how the LEEP initiative is helping builders drive innovation in their industry and accelerate the construction of affordable energy-efficient homes.

Mechanical practices in new housing

This video series provides case studies on how builders have addressed the comfort and efficiency needs of today’s new housing by selecting the options that work best for them on the homes they build in their markets.

LEEP NZE Wall Guides – Construction training videos

NRCan’s LEEP Team, BCIT educators and RDH Building Science engineers collaborated to create this video series. Four (4) wall assembly types for light-wood framing are explained, using different insulation materials. Each video provides detailed technical guidance on the construction of High-Performance, Net Zero Energy, Low-Carbon building envelopes. Each assembly allows a wide range of R-values to meet performance targets and climate zone requirements. Appendix A & B Videos include discussion of materials and a deep dive into the building science of insulation and high-performance wall systems.

Best practices in heat pumps

This video series showcases best practices in heat pump sizing, selection and installation in case study homes across Canada. Learn how heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) contractors, energy advisors, builders and renovators can apply these principles to design and install heat pump systems that are cost-effective, comfortable and deliver utility and greenhouse gas (GHG) savings for Canadians in a diverse range of homes.
