What vehicles are considered eligible?
To be eligible for a contribution under Stream 2, the vehicle(s) impacted or purchased as part of the project must be within the following weight classes:

Class 7 | 11,793 kg and 14,969 kg |
Class 8 | More than 14,969 kg |
Note: Cargo vans, cutaway vans, and step vans for commercial use are eligible vehicles.
What vehicles are considered ineligible?
- SUVs;
- Pickup trucks;
- Public transit buses;
- School buses;
- Marine or air transportation vehicles;
- Off-road vehicles used for recreational purposes;
- Vans that are not cutaway, step, or cargo for commercial use;
- Newly purchased vehicles that are bought prior to a successful proposal (for "Purchase" projects only); and
- Vehicles that are already equipped with the proposed retrofit device(s) prior to a proposal being deemed successful by NRCan.
- Vans that are not cutaway, step, or cargo for commercial use.
Note: For repower projects the vehicle(s) must be in service at the time of application.
