Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to investigate modifications to diesel engines to enable very efficient carbon capture using exhaust gas recirculation (EGR).

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Apply the process across diesel-reliant industries such as oil and gas drilling operations, locomotive rail transport, marine shipping, and heavy-duty trucking.
  2. Implement Oxyfire-EGR CO2 capture on vehicles to reduce the carbon intensity of transportation.
  3. Patent and commercialize the technology to generate economic opportunities for Canada.
  4. Provide a cost-effective CO2 capture solution for carbon-intensive industries like the natural resource sector.
  5. Reduce emissions from Canadian oil and gas production, enhancing their value to regions with low carbon fuel standards.
