Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to advance Direct Air Capture Technology (DAC) with a focus on cold air climate operations and scaling up CO2 capture beds using structured zeolite packing to minimize pressure drop and improve mass transport. This will enable the integration of a structured CO2 capture bed into a 250 tpa unit, fitting into a shipping container with a potential cost of <$100/tCO2 at gigatonne scale.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Develop a novel Canadian carbon capture technology.
  2. Create a DAC system for easier, cheaper, and thermodynamically efficient CO2 separation from cold air.
  3. Generate hundreds of job opportunities for Canadians, specifically in the Northern provinces and territories.
