Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) powered, web-based toolkit that enables system-level planning and optimization of electric buses and charging infrastructure for Canadian public transit agencies.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Improve clean public transit affordability and reliability.
  2. Reduce local air and noise pollution, and GHG emissions through battery electric bus adoption.
  3. Provide data and advanced modelling to support electric vehicle adoption.
  4. Lower total cost of ownership for electric fleets while minimizing service disruptions.
  5. Grow municipal expertise, promote Canadian digital solutions, and reduce planning costs.
