Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to develop a regulatory roadmap for offshore CO2 storage in Atlantic Canada to spur innovation, commercialization and further align Provincial and Federal interests to develop carbon management solutions.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Enhance global competitiveness through innovation, IP development, research, training, and marine science and technology advancements.
  2. Enable IP generation by defining the full CCUS value chain—from onshore capture to offshore storage.
  3. Identify knowledge and technology gaps addressable through cleantech RD&D.
  4. Map the offshore CCUS value chain under low, medium and high transport volume scenarios.
